Transcription services involve the process of converting audio or video recordings into written text. Free State Reporting, Inc. (FSRI) listens to the recording and transcribes it into a written document. The resulting transcripts are typically provided in a digital format and can be customized to meet the needs of the client, such as by including time stamps, speaker identification, or verbatim transcriptions. Transcription services may be provided by private companies or individual freelancers, and the cost and turnaround time may vary depending on factors such as the length and complexity of the recording, the level of accuracy required, and the formatting and delivery requirements.

Transcripts are typically delivered in three formats: Microsoft Word®, ASCII (plain text), and E-Transcript. Standard delivery takes 10 business days, however deliveries may be expedited upon request.
